Felix the ferrell cat.
At one time we had as many as nine ferrell cats that lived in the back yard. The mama cat was uncatchable, so the best we could do is catch the babies and find homes for them. The mama cat disappeared about a year ago. She was old and we think she probably went someplace to die. There are two females that are still around. At one time they were babies of the mama cat. They were caught years ago and were fixed and released back in the yard. Today, just as I walked in the house after lunch, Felix appeared from under the house to greet me. Note to Mr. B: You need to paint the front porch this spring.

Whenever Rose goes out the front door, she looks for Smoke (who is gray) and Felix (who is pictured). Rose doesn't want to chase them. She just looks to see if they are stretched out on the bench or curled up in the chair on the porch. A couple of times I've been able to touch Smoke, but Felix is just too shy. After years of feeding them, you'd think they would know we aren't going to hurt them.

Today I'm creating a magazine ad and a direct-mail postcard. I had lunch with Kelly M. today. She and I officed together for many years, before she went back to work for a design firm. She has rehung her freelance shingle. It was good to catch up with her today.
